What are some tips for keeping a durag on for a longer period of time?

My friend said her husband likes to,put it on nice & tight for at least 30mins after brushing. Sleeping is another time as it will hold he's hair in place & her gorgeous waves in place. I never knew there was so many ways & alot to maintain their phenomenal hair. I didn't even think the lads had to do much maintaining, even when their hair is “short short” it helps to keep your hair moisturized and laid, even the edges.

My hair is extremely damaged due to dying it & meds for autoimmune, but my friend gave me a bonnet as a prezzie, & I could never sleep without 1 ever again. It's stopped the knotting, I've just been electrocuted hair morning look, it's helped with me taking proper care of my hair, keeping the natural oils going through my hair, so it's definitely not as fragile & dry as it used to be.

It or a “bonnet”protects your hair from damage and breakage, & can help your hair grow longer and stronger over time. Both help in maintaining the health of your hair.

Always make sure to oil your ends..

Anyway…DONT's

Omg it's absolutely beautiful and stunning, I love anyway she does her hair, but especially if she leaves it “naturally” Afro hair & just wraps a scarf around the edges.. It's amazingly beautiful. But even leaving it natural, there's so much work, while mine can be done in 2 minutes 😂

Durags/Bonnets help prevent tangles and breakage by reducing friction. If you wrap your hair in a durag at night, it will stay in place better and won't get tangled in your pillow.

But she warned me, as she's been helping me with hair loss, so thankful for her & the universe making us friends, she did give me the DO's & DONT's. 😂 Which I forget & have to call her & she just laughs & shakes her head,

(I never wore a bonnet or durag before I met her, & all my “hair care” routines are a huge NO, for her 😂)

Make sure to take care of your bonnets & or durags, have spares & keep them all washed and clean.

Wearing a durag too often can lead to a buildup of sweat & oil on your scalp, which can clog hair follicles & can give you major scalp irritation, especially if you don't properly wash out the products in your hair. It can cause the hairline to become itchy, red, & inflamed, which can further damage the hair follicles & lead to hair loss.

Wearing a DuRag 24/7 can cause breakage & hairloss. Stop putting lots of products in your hair, and wearing a duRag everyday for the sake of waves.

I'm not sure why I was asked this question, but I'll give it my best common sense answer.
